Extremely tough conditions prevail wherever Schalke's mining locomotives are in use. They are highly robust work horses with many operating around the clock. In some cases they are operating in depths of more than one thousand meters below ground level and in mines of all types of climatic zones, from northern Sweden to the Indonesian tropics.
